Five effects with VU meters, built to be rewired to your own footswitches and MIDI rig
Five effects in a fixed chain: phaser, flanger, chorus, tape delay and a three-band EQ. Switch them with a foot, on the screen or over MIDI, and a MIDI preset can set the whole board before a song starts. Two meters watch the input.
By Plume
One row per effect, in chain order. The first cell of each row switches it in or out.
The columns are grouped by what the knob does: mix, tone or time, rate, width or depth, intensity. Every rate is in the same column. The EQ row is the exception, four bands and no modulation.
Chorus, delay and EQ start on. Phaser and flanger start off.
Left and middle do two things each: a short press for the effect they are named after, a long press for the next one in the chain.
| Short | Long | |
|---|---|---|
| Left | ||
| Middle | ||
| Right | Bypass |
Use the force CCs, not the toggles. A toggle flips whatever the state is, so it cannot set up a song. Force sets it.
Fixed order: modulations, then delay, then EQ.
Switching an effect off does not take it out of the chain. Phaser, flanger and chorus stay inline and go silent, so nothing clicks and the latency never changes. Two exceptions:
Columns 7 and 8 are VU meters, left channel and right. They read the input, before the effects.
Five segments, filling from the bottom as you play louder: green, lime, mango, orange, red. The thresholds get closer together towards the top, so the red is a smaller step than the green.
Red should never light. It means the input is too hot and the patch starts to dirty. Set your level below it, digging in included.
Page holds one trigger per gesture, each wired to the flip flop of the effect it switches. The foot, the screen and MIDI all read that same flip flop, so they cannot disagree.
Move a wire to a different flip flop and that press switches a different effect.
